Bonny Miss is a family-run business that sells handcrafted crochet goods made unique through the close attention-to-detail given to every product. They began doing by doing local markets in the Cincinnati area, and have now expanded to an online store-front for their business.

Bonny Miss asked for a refreshed look for their social media branding preceding their grand website opening, incorporating elements from their original logo design, as well as updating signage and business cards for in-person markets.

The logo and the image provided on the right started as the basis for my brand refresh for Bonny Miss. Bonny Miss primarily uses a shade of red and pink for their branding. After doing research, I found that many small craft businesses leaned into the colors red and pink, and pink especially. Pink, a derivitive color of red, evokes passion and youthfulness, which suites the young target demographic of many craft businesses such as Bonny Miss. Keeping this in mind, I decided to include the spectrum of the rainbow to further invoke the idea of youthfulness and offer a wider color palette.
The logo originally provided is black and red, but I encouraged the company to steer away from the use of a solid #00000 black, and rather use a friendlier, more marketable dark shade of brown. The red I incorporated throughout the elements of the brand. I also asked the company what their best selling products are, and they sent me a list that included their hanging possums and big booty frogs at the top. Those are what I selected to make custom illustrations for stickers, as well as the company mascot, the Mushroom, with the company's signature big booty!
Throughout the company's brand design, I also widely incorporate dashed lines that represent "cut along the dotted line" instructions, a staple of crafts.
